Dates[edit]

This article uses three different date systems, one of which is deprecated in WP, because it is confusing. This is a result of cut-and paste activities from self-published web pages, in possible violation of copyright. The dates must be redone so as to show only one consistent system.

Original Research[edit]

I removed the following sentence: " As direct subjects of the popes, many of its bishops were transferred to a richer see and/or even created Cardinals.^{[citation needed]}"

(1) The sentence seems to be original research. It is certainly not in the style of a book, article, or encyclopedic entry. (2) The statement is unreferenced. (3) The statement ignores other information: bishops transferred TO Viterbo e Toscanella; cardinals who were cardinals BEFORE they became bishops of Viterbo e Toscanella; cardinals who obtained Viterbo e Toscanella at the same time they became cardinals. (4) It is not clear how being direct subjects of the popes brings the alleged circumstances into existence.
