Notability?[edit]

This article is currently single-sourced, and that source does not appear to be a very reliable source. Can we be sure that this individual is sufficiently notable to include? --Salimfadhley (talk) 16:50, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Notability?[edit]

From Wikipedia:Notability_(sports)#Generally_acceptable_standards:

"Sports figures are presumed notable (except as noted within a specific section) if they: have participated in a major international amateur or professional competition at the highest level such as the Olympics."

Ron Lugbill has not only participated at the World Championships (which qualifies as a major international competition at the highest level), but he has also won a gold medal.

As for the sources, William Endicott is a well-known author of books on canoe slalom and canoeslalom.net is probably the most reliable and complete archive of canoe slalom results on the web. How much more reliable sources would you want?
