Citation Removed[edit]

I have removed the following citation from the article as it is confusing (note Alex Hankey in the source)and gives no conclusive or reliable info about the subject.

  • Science Digest online [1]--KbobTalk 15:07, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Have you read the actual paper? It might describe the authors' credentials in a footnote.   Will Beback  talk  20:00, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, all the info I have is the link above. The text may in fact be accurate but the current source does not verify anything. Maybe something else can be found.--KbobTalk 20:45, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The source is the paper, not the abstract. I'll restore it and add a {verify} tag.   Will Beback  talk  20:54, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the source for a second time. There is no indication that the source contains any info about the subject. Only guesswork from Will Beback above and the source has been tagged as verification needed for 2 years.--KeithbobTalk 17:19, 12 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

Spicemix has added a notability tag. Does this person meet WP:Politician? If not, it my be a candidate for deletion.--KeithbobTalk 17:15, 12 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In my view this person is not notable as an unsuccessful candidate. There isn't significant coverage in independent sources. Spicemix (talk) 18:26, 12 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It appears that this article was proposed for deletion in 2009 (see here) and was a unanimous keep because he was the party leader for the province of Ontario. However, that claim is not cited in the article.--KeithbobTalk 23:41, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've done more web searching and I cannot find the Ottawa Citizen source anywhere on the Internet including the Ottawa Citizen archives. I've removed all unsourced text since the article has been tagged 'refs needed' since 2009. I've added some additional sourcing to show he did in fact run for office in 1997 and 2000. However, there is no source or indication that he was a party leader. In fact the sources I've found indicate he was a businessman. Therefore I think the article could be take to WP:AfD since it was kept previously due to false information.--KeithbobTalk 00:10, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This research paper says:

  • "Ron J.D. Parker, Department of Physics, Maharishi International University, Fairfield, IA 52556, USA"

Is that the same person as Ron Parker the politician? --KeithbobTalk 00:14, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I guess it may be. But it still wouldn't add to notability, IMO. I've listed the article at AfD. Thanks for the work you've put in. Spicemix (talk) 16:01, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
