Death[edit]

A family member, Sean Thomas-Bouzas has added Thomas's death to this article. I found it listed on the GOV.UK Probate Search, but nothing else is out there. A better source is needed.--TrottieTrue (talk) 05:38, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Having downloaded the Grant and Will from the Probate Search service, I can confirm that the address for Ronald Thomas is the same one included in his Who's Who entry, so that would appear to confirm it is him who has died. Same full name, and Sean Thomas-Bouzas is listed as the executor. Who's Who apparently update their entries to include death details every so often, so the entry for Thomas there should be able to be used as a verifiable source at some point.--TrottieTrue (talk) 19:53, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Who's Who's practice is to have a supplementary 'obituary' (in reality list of those who have died) in the next annual issue, as well as to have a full sketch with death date given when they come to the 'Who Was Who' which is published at roughly decadely intervals. BTW my late father knew Ron Thomas as they were members of the same union and went to the same technical college but I shall add nothing to this article that is not published.Cloptonson (talk) 16:44, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting, thanks for your comment. I actually had a reply from my recent email to WW - I gave them the info I had about Thomas’s death, and the probate documents. They thanked me and said the death will be included in their next online monthly update in the next few weeks. So the online edition will have a verifiable source for this death fairly soon. My comment above - “Who's Who apparently update their entries to include death details every so often” - referred to the online edition.
You can sort the online entries by date of death, and it shows that they have updated some entries with 2021 deaths. It’s a pity that Thomas’s death wasn’t reported in the media, and he received no obituary. I wonder why. When updating deaths here, we’re reliant on it being reported. If someone isn’t hugely prominent, it can easily slip through the net, sadly. TrottieTrue (talk) 17:35, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
