English debut and Pliny[edit]

If anyone can find a reliable source to cite for this - "It was introduced into cultivation in England in 1629, but it may be the coronial of Pliny the Elder, therefore a rose already cultivated by the Romans" - please add it to the article. It comes from the French wikipedia article but is unreferenced there and so unfortunately cannot yet be considered a reliable source (see WP:USERG, in particular, "Examples of unacceptable user-generated sites are Wikipedia (self referencing)").
