Notable people section[edit]

There is a problem with the notable people section of this article. There have been numerous additions of people, mostly show-biz folks, where the person's biography shows no connection to the city. Is this WP:OR or just plain WP:HOAX? Gtwfan52 (talk) 03:38, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Having looked at some of these, I think the answer is: neither. It is more a case of local legends or local pride. For example, although Ethan Allen's birthplace is in neighboring Litchfield, the town of Roxbury website mentions Ethan Allen, Seth Warner, and others as being born there. That is, of course, without any attribution. --Eggishorn (talk) 16:08, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I know William Styron really did live in Roxbury for many years. Citable source is Vanity Fair, April 2011. http://www.vanityfair.com/culture/features/2011/04/styron-201104 Vox Sciurorum (talk) 00:40, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
