Locomotive Services Limited[edit]

I am proposing to change to the name of the section Locomotive Services Ltd. to Locomotive Services Limited in line with branding on [1] and to use as an anchor point from a Locomotive Services Limited redirect. Article rename?[edit]

I'm not sure Royal Scot Locomotive and General Trust remains the most appropriate name for this article. That said there are a number of developments ongoing. It may not be easy to choose the best name for the article as there are a number of companies/brands co-operating with the situation a little dynamic. It is probably best the current content remains together. As a minimum it probably needs content adding in the lede.

I've currently stopped Locomotive Services Limited from being developed into its own article here due to a content fork however there may be some useful content and references that I have removed that may be helpful in this article.Djm-leighpark (talk) 15:00, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Probably the two options are to rename this article Locomotive Services (TOC) Limited or Locomotive Services (TOC) or Locomotive Services Limited (removing the existing redirect). The former two are accurate, the latter will need an admin. As this may be contentious/difficult the suggestion may need to go to WP:RM#CM. But I'd welcome any thoughts before I do this. References identified by 82.17.24.87 on the Locomotive Services Limited oldid=855585874 that might get lost if a proposed rename goes ahead. The content we mostly have already apart possibly from the 90s and HSTs but as I'm not 100% sure that was in the associated reference I've left it off.

After especially reviewing the 'Icons of Steam' website about page I am very minded the correct decision is to rename this article to Locomotive Services Limited over the existing redirect. I have tweaked the article to make a renamed article seem appropriate, and once renamed the article can be improved further. Royal Scot Locomotive and General Trust → Locomotive Services Limited – Jeremy Hosking has developed and expanded around the Royal Scot Locomotive and General Trust a set of companies to maintain and operate trains. The article has developed to cover this with Locomotive Services Limited currently existing as a redirect. A good faith attempt was made to expand that to its own article but a WP:CFORK immediately developed so it was reverted to a re-direct. The choice of 'Locomotive Services Limited' as the article name is driven by use of the abbreviation LSL being used in the media/social media for the operation and by the about link on http://www.locomotiveservices.co.uk/ leading to http://www.iconsofsteam.com/about/ which indicates LSL association to the other companies and that it owns the tradenames and copyrights.
