I don't know all the particulars, but what happened to Rubbermaid's being named one of the most admired companies in America (in 1995, I believe), and its subsequent bankruptcy? These seem to be very major items worthy of discussion, and yet this listing sounds like it comes straight out of Newell's PR department. What led to the relocation of headquarters? Why was most of the equipment in Ohio sold at auction? I find this listing sorely lacking in information.

I saw a documentary that explained how Rubbermaid's financial problems were due to their relationship with Wal-Mart. Essentially WM forced Rubbermaid to sell their goods to them (WM) at prices lower than what Rubbermaid needed to be sustainable. Rubbermaid didn't want to lose their account with WM, so they went along and eventually found themselves in trouble.

Who is Ebert?[edit]

The article says:

In 1934, Ebert saw Rubbermaid products at a New England department store, and believed such products could help his struggling Wooster Rubber.

but it gives no indication who Ebert is and what the rest of his name is. This is such a terrible article that it may not matter, but I'll note it anyway.--Jim10701 (talk) 00:56, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
