Untitled[edit]

I've just watched this movie after not having seen it since it was in the theater in 1983, and I was immediately struck by the early "rumble" scene as being practically identical to parts of the Michael Jackson's BAD video. Am I imagining this? It seems shot for shot, costume for costume, location for location a major rip off....ahem...homage. ;-)

Rumble fish disambiguation[edit]

The disambiguation is valid, as both articles have only a one-letter difference. Note that the Rumble fish article also has a link to this picture, for the same motive. Please do not remove it. If you want, a template like {{Otheruses4}} can be used. -- ReyBrujo 02:01, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but just because two things have the same name do not automatically guarantee that a disambiguation is necessary. I seriously doubt that anyone really needs a disambiguation between this movie and a song by this 'Do As Infinity' band. Are you also prepared to add a disambiguation between Wings and the Do As Infinity song of the same name?? How about Simple Minds and the Do As Infinity song of the same name?? or Faces and the Do As Infinity song of the same name?? If Do As Infinity were to record a song called George W. Bush, would you add a disambiguation to the President's article? WP:DAB clearly states: "Disambiguation pages are not intended for games of "free association" and "When there is no risk of confusion, do not disambiguate nor add a link to a disambiguation page." wikipediatrix 02:27, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
After reconsidering the matter, you are right. I based myself on the "When there is no risk of confusion, do not disambiguate nor add a link to a disambiguation page." part, where the confusion risk exists as there is only a letter of difference (any of those would be a redirect per capitalization if the other did not exist). I agree that the chances of a user searching for the single are small when compared with the chances of searching for the movie. Although your other examples were not valid as they were already disambiguated, I admit I was wrong in the spirit of the guideline. -- ReyBrujo 03:42, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
So, how about a disambiguation between this and the video game of the same name?
The show Wings and Paul McCartney's former band Wings are prominent enough to be diambiguated. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.113.123.1 (talk) 05:23, 14 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I'd like to make mention though that the link in SE Hintons page for the book of Rumble Fish goes to this article and I can't seem to find an article on the book. Should the link be changed on the authors page to a non-existant novel article that was made into a movie. Or someone who is up to the challenge create a Rumble Fish novel article then fix the link? just wondering. --Xiahou 23:02, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Novel[edit]

Why is there an article for the movie but not the novel (which came first)? At least the movie article should outline the plot, which it does not. The Person Who Is Strange 03:12, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

San Sebastian International Film Festival[edit]

This is a good addition but we need a source for a proper citation or it will never pass to GA status.

Page move[edit]

This article was moved last night and I moved it back to its original title. Any further page moves should be discussed here and a consensus reached beforehand. Thanks. ---The Old JacobiteThe '45 12:02, 1 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
