Proposed merger[edit]

This seems like it would be more useful (not to mention easier to patrol for spam) if it were to be merged into the main article on GOST. --Dynaflow babble 13:19, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree. GOSTs are not Russian national standards! "Because GOST standards are adopted by Russia... it is a common misconception to think of GOST standards as the national standards of Russia. Disagree. I support the previous comment. GOST is a system of standards that was established in the Soviet Union and later served as a foundation of national standard systems of the post-Soviet republics. Direct association of GOST with the National standards system of Russia would be erroneous and pose several negative connotations from numerous perspectives.
