Born where?[edit]

The first paragraph calls her an "American-born English socialite", the second asserts she was born in England. So which is it? And who were her parents?--Death Bredon (talk) 19:25, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Death Bredon@Spiel Okay, so I figured I'd ping because I had this exact question while reading. The third source, by Christopher Hallam, says explicitly "Ruth Baldwin (1905-1937) was born in America." [1]. Buttttttttt Find A Grave (which... keeping in mind WP:FINDAGRAVE-EL) says she was born in Kensington (Kensington, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Greater London, England [2]. That said, FreeBMD (a transcription site for British genealogical records, including birth and death records), has this scan of a birth record [3] for a Catherine Ruth Baldwin in 1905 in Kensington, which is consistent with FindAGrave and other sources. So... English, not American-born. Right? ɯɐɔ 💬 03:35, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds English born to me. Spiel (talk) 04:14, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So would she be an English-born American socialite? Spiel (talk) 04:15, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I was going to ask the same question. Spiel (talk) 19:17, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
