H. Peter Kahn, Jr.[edit]

VIAF 53470538; LCCN n98--91674

Perhaps son of H. Peter Kahn (and Gannett, or not). --P64 (talk) 19:15, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, that is Peter H. Kahn, Jr. --a search hit with a discrepancy that I missed last hour. --P64 (talk) 23:50, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hans Peter Kahn, husband[edit]

"In 1947 he met and married children’s book writer Ruth Stiles Gannett." This mentions seven daughters, five before 1957/Cornell and two after.

"BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE: Professor of Art, Cornell University" --that's the entire Note!, a big surprise to my experience with university libraries, but sufficient for one point in this article on his wife.

By the way, this (diffs 2014-01-19) is the contribution openly by User:Ruth Stiles Gannett (soon tagged {citation needed}, for the most part).
Our "External links" biography at Random House matches the blurb about RSG published "About the Author and Illustrator" on a back page of each book in the RH paperback set at my public library. Our Ext link at Internet Book List is merely another copy (and so credited). This blurb identifies him as "the artist and calligrapher Peter Kahn" and counts seven grandchildren. The date seems to be 1986/87 --full LC classification PZ7.G15E1 1987, data filed 1986 LCCN 86--27479 (book two).

The biographical info provided to LC for the 1987 edition[2] matches the two lines in our Ruth Chrisman Gannett reference at Scholastic Teachers, [ref name=scholastic-chrisman].[3]
Re father Lewis Stiles Gannett. The Random House 1986/87 back pages blurb for illustrator RCG says, "Mrs. Gannett was married to the late Lewis Gannett, daily book critic identifies for the New York Herald Tribune."

Today's contribution both revised and extended. --P64 (talk) 17:22, 23 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
