Article is greatly improved since last GA review.

It is reasonably well written.

In lead, change "Born in Ohio," to "Born in Delaware, Ohio," ? Done

"he retired from politics" -> "he returned to practicing law" ? Done

"Four years later, Hayes began to spend more time with Lucy." - Narrative is in chronological order up to this point and then jumps back. Perhaps you should identify the year that Hayes first met Lucy, and avoid the relative (and confusing) term "four years later."

"in efforts to free bondsmen" - term is undefined and confusing. Do you mean escaped slaves recaptured in Ohio? Done

"They passed without incident until September," Do you mean "They served without combant until September,"? Fixed

"encountered Confederates at Carnifex Ferry and" -> "encountered Confederates at Carnifex Ferry (in what is now West Virginia) and" Done

"near Charleston, West Virginia, out of contact" - this is technically an anachronism. WV became a state on June 20, 1863. Perhaps "near Charleston (in what is now West Virginia), out of contact" Done

"In 1864, the department was reorganized" - the War Department, the Army or just the Division? Hayes headed just one brigade in that Division. Fixed

Article is unclear as to Hayes' position on black sufferage in 1867. Fixed

Was Hayes practicing law in 1872-73? [Reply:Not really. He did real estate transactions, which could be considered a law practice, but he wasn't in court or anything.]
I think that processing commercial and real estate transactions constitutes practicing law. So the edit to the lead paragraph is fine. You might want to conform the text in the "Private life and return to politics" section.

Note 5: "the only states in which the regime was supported by Federal force." -> "the only states in which the regime was supported by Federal troops." No showing that force was used. [Reply:The troops imply force. They weren't there to offer polite suggestions.]
This is up to you, but we should try to select NPOV terminology. (For example, you did not call it the War of Northern Aggression.) Is troops less POV and more precise than force? [Reply: OK, I changed it.]

"both parties were used to being"->"both parties were accustomed to being" Used has multiple meanings. Done

Was John Jay appointed by Hayes or by John Sherman? (The Wikipedia article John Jay (lawyer) says Sherman.) Fixed. Sherman appointed him.

delete ", the erstwhile spoilsman." as POV. [Reply:It's not POV to say that Arthur was from the pro-spoils system branch of the party. He would have admitted as much -- it was a legitimate position to hold at the time.]

Did the Hayes administration take any action with respect to the French Panama Canal effort? [Reply: No, other than the speech. Nothing came of the French efforts until after he left office.]

Can you make any sourced statement about the relationship between the changes in silver/gold policy and the Panic of 1873? [Reply: I'm not sure what you want here.]

Page 24 which is cited in Morgan Dollar as "This course of action was intended partly as a means of relief for the nation's farmers following the Panic of 1873.[6]" [Reply: I think I've solved this with the new sentence and citation to Irwin Unger's book.]
