Checking against GA criteria[edit]

GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
On 18 November 2011, he left Hyde in order to join Fleetwood Town on a free transfer.[18][19] He played a total of 17 games scoring nine goals in his short spell with Hyde.[20] He made his Fleetwood Town debut a day later as a second-half substitute as his side beat Stockport County 2–1. I think this needs reconfigruing as as it stands we jump back and forward between hyde and Fleetwood.
After just one more appearance, as a substitute, in a 1–0 defeat to Harrogate Town,[10] he left the club to be sentenced in prison for four months. I know this is explained further down, but I think you need to explain the offence here. Also the phrase to be sentenced in prison for four months. is wrong. "sentenced to prison" is correct.
He was tried for racially aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm but a jury acquitted him of that charge, but found him guilty of an alternative charge of assaulting the taxi driver. is very badly written.
The lead shouldn't have a stray sentence at the start.
I think drop the personal life section and put the assault and sentence in the main bio.
    I have made a number of copy-edits.[2] Jezhotwells (talk) 11:56, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
ref #23[3] just redirects to the Club home page, I can't find anything at the Internet Archive, but should be easy to find something else.
ref #2[4] says: "He went on to make two senior appearances – including one as captain. Aged just 17, it made him the youngest skipper in Edgeley Park history. " This does not support the statement: where aged just 17, he came on as a substitute and was made captain for the rest of the match,
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
Crowther also said he liked the band Oasis. This is pure trivia and is irrelevant here. As I note earlier just drop the personal life section as there is little material for it.
There are inconsistencies between the number of appearances for clubs in the info-box and in the article text.
He scored his first goal for the club, in a Manchester Premier Cup game against Irlam Town, which Crowther's side won 7–0.[13] He played 25 games in the 2010–11 season in total, scoring four goals. is a very poor summary of his career at the club where he made the most appearances. Perhaps there really is not enough material here to satisfy criterion 3#a?
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
    NPOV
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
There are a number of issues that need addressing, but my main concern is that there really is not enough here to satisfy criterion 3#a. It is possible that whilst the player is notable by the standards of WP:ATHLETE, there may not be enough material to satisfy the broadness of coverage. Not every article has the poetntial to become GA and I think this may be just such a case. On Hold for seven days. I would like to see rather more material about his career at Ashton and Hyde where he made the most appearances. Jezhotwells (talk) 10:52, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just one remaining issue. Jezhotwells (talk) 11:56, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The last remaining issue has been fixed. LiamTaylor 16:25, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK, happy to list. Jezhotwells (talk) 20:58, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
