What are the origins & etymology of the name Sæmingr? Is it from "sæ" meaning sea? Then what of the "m"? There's "Sámr", the prosecutor in Hrafnkels saga and Gunnars dog in Njáls saga, which is then supposedly a common Norse name which I've read somewhere to mean dark or murky but haven't a satisfactory etymology there either. Sæmingr has a striking similarity to Shakespeare's knight "Samingo", especially when considering Germanic languages altered the "-r" from an "-ô" in older common/proto- Germanic tongues. However I believe it was considered a contracted form of 'Saint Domingo' and maybe just a coincedence? 70.57.121.210 (talk) 00:51, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Saeming's Children[edit]

Who were Saeming's children? Is he related to Nori? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.187.177.243 (talk) 02:05, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
