Company name[edit]

This page has recently been moved, entirely in good faith, based on the premise that the company has changed its name. But has it? Where is the source for that change? Companies House shows Scotia Gas Networks Limited, company number 04958135, as active, while SGN Limited at the same address is dormant. The auditors statement on page 32 of the Annual Report for 2014 states that they examined the accounts of Scotia Gas Networks Limited. Can anyone clarify? Thornton Heath Gas Explosion[edit]

Request edit on 21 October 2022[edit]

I request to edit the Thornton Heath Gas Explosion section of this page. Please find below suggested replacement text which accurately and neutrally recognises content published in Source 13 by the Evening Standard.

The Source 13 report outlines resident/family comments that after being contacted about the leak, an SGN engineer visited the site to investigate the leak. This contradicts the active content claiming SGN failed to take any action and ignored further warnings from local residents.

This incident is currently being investigated by the Police. I submit Source 14 from BBC News as supporting evidence that the investigation is ongoing and the cause of the explosion is still to be determined.

Proposed edit

A gas explosion in Croydon, London on Monday 8 August 2022 resulted in the death of a four-year-old girl, Sahara Salman. Several other local residents were seriously injured.[12]

SGN had been notified of a gas leak in Galpin’s Road, the site of the explosion, on Saturday 30 July. The company is accused of failing to take any action on this leak.[13] This incident is currently under police investigation.[14][1]

I request to edit the Owners section of this page. Please find below suggested replacement text as evidenced on page 40 of the 2022 SGN Annual Report https://www.sgn.co.uk/sites/default/files/media-entities/documents/2022-07/SGN-Annual-Report-2022.pdf

This is further evidenced in the following article: https://dailybusinessgroup.co.uk/2021/12/gip-buys-25-stake-in-scotia-gas-networks/

@PK650 Thank you for looking at this.
There are limited independent sources which state the full breakdown of ownership.
This press release from Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) states that they purchased a 25% stake from OMERS.
https://www.prnewswire.com/in/news-releases/global-infrastructure-partners-announces-agreement-to-acquire-a-25-interest-in-scotia-gas-networks-from-omers-815088077.html#:~:text=22%2C%202021%20%2FPRNewswire%2F%20%2D%2D,Infrastructure%20(%22OMERS%22).
This older article details the proportions owned by Brookfield Infrastucture Partners, Ontario Teachers Pension Plan Board (OTPPB) and OMERS.

I hope this is helpful. 148.64.26.14 (talk) 10:40, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The first is a press release. The second might be usable. PK650 (talk) 04:26, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @PK650, thank you for taking another look at this.
Was the second article suitable? Unfortunately, I have not been able to source another independent article after the completion of the sale. However, I do have the following which announces GIPs intention to purchase the 25% previously owned by OMERS.
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/article-omers-sells-stake-in-scottish-gas-network-for-16-billion/
If this isn't sufficient, would it be possible to remove the Owners section entirely? It currently contradicts the information in the History section of the page.
Thanks 148.64.26.203 (talk) 16:39, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like the request has been implemented by someone else. I've added your second source to support another statement made elsewhere. PK650 (talk) 02:39, 18 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @PK650
Thank you again for looking at this, however, there is still a conflict of information on the page. The History section correctly explains that OMERS sold their 25% but the information box on the right of the page still displays OMERS as an owner. Would it be possible to update the Owners section on the information box or remove it entirely?
Thanks Dh 1983 (talk) 11:29, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Done. PK650 (talk) 01:19, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
