Please delete this article[edit]

It cites only one reference, of which it is simultaneously a near paraphrase and misrepresents the referenced information. Further, the information given in the referenced material is either outdated or classified. If these units actually exist, then the reason you've never heard of them is that nobody cares; as it should be. What they really do isn't a secret, it's just pretty boring.Ala' adDeen alBari (talk) 10:39, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, boring is not a good description of the job, nor of the capabilities of these units. The point is this article does not meet the standards of an encyclopedia entry, being based upon decade-old military publications (hence classified, or if declassified, then out of date). Unit organization changes constantly, based upon available resources and needs of the unit and mission. The only people qualified to give up-to-date descriptions of current capabilities and organizational details are those whose lives and livelihoods depend upon ambiguity (not secrecy per se). There are numerous units that work with and under USASOC, etc., that are not mentioned and whose jobs are not nearly as sensitive. Highlighting the SOTs-A in this manner is both ignorant and irresponsible. PeaCockoftheWalk

Not just boring, it is blatantly inaccurate. The description is ridiculous and not only inaccurate but highly inflammatory to actual special operators. I made an edit to correct the inference that SOT-A are special operators, they are support operators (FM 34-36 Chapter 4, Int and EW support to a Special Forces Group).

The only A-Team is a Special Forces Operational Detachment- Alpha, aka A-Team. Anyway, someone went in to the edit and reverted the page back to false information.

This article needs to be deleted as the source listed for nearly all citations is an army manual posted online at FAS.org That manual has special release requirements: "DISTRIBUTION RESTRICTION: Distribution authorized to U.S. Government agencies and their contractors only to protect technical or operational information from automatic dissemination under the International Exchange Program or by other means. This determination was made on 5 December 2003. Other requests for this document must be referred to Commander, United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, ATTN: AOJK-DT-JAA, Fort Bragg, North Carolina 28310-5000. DESTRUCTION NOTICE: Destroy by any method that must prevent disclosure of contents or reconstruction of the document" Wiki moderators have rightfully deleted entire articles for less than that. 96.19.60.148 (talk) 02:23, 9 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If the page isn't correct it should be deleted, and this page is not correct. Rwunderlich (talk) 23:16, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
