Untitled[edit]

I've changed every "Holland" into The Netherlands, for that is the official translation of Nederland (Dutch for "The Netherlands"). --Robster1983 21:31, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Date of Launch[edit]

Saariko (talk) 19:49, 24 October 2008 (UTC) It says that the ship launched in 1936, however, Ellis island records show this ship manifest in harbor already by 1923. Was there a different ship? Are the dates wrong?[reply]

repatriation of Dutch children after WW2 with this ship?[edit]

Is this the ship that repatriated thousands of Dutch citizens after they were freed from the camps in Indonesia after WW2? There's a news article here (Dutch) that says their unfateful journey was made with the Nieuw Amsterdam. Huh?[edit]

Nieuw Amsterdam acclaim with titles such as "Ship of the Year" and, due to some features such as fire resistance, air conditioning and accommodations, "Ship of Tomorrow" by some.
