Hanja[edit]

The currently listed hanja are 史臺 but shouldn't they be 事大 ? Heroeswithmetaphors (talk) 20:39, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge sadaejuui[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
To not merge sadae and sadaejuui; distinct concepts. Klbrain (talk) 12:32, 24 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I know nothing about the topic beyond what I read in the articles, but the distinction between sadae and sadaejuui seems like a WP:POVFORK. The sources do not support the contention that sadaejuui is pejorative and sadae is not; it seems more likely that sadae may be used pejoratively or neutrally, and that adding the juui makes it explicitly pejorative. An English analogy would be the difference between "vision" and "the vision thing". The two prominent editors on both pages are @Caspian blue: and @Enkyo2: who both stopped editing some years ago. jnestorius(talk) 13:38, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. Entirely different terminology. It would be a bit like merging imperialism and foreign aid as essentially same thing. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 12:42, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Sadae is a form of foreign relations, and Sadaejuui is an ideology or an attitude. The latter roughly equivalates to "(cultural) toadyism / flunkyism". --Brett (talk) 19:57, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge of Sadaejuui into Sadae[edit]

Largely overlapping content. Also probably better discussed together. Daask (talk) 19:44, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Noting that the arguments against this, from 2018, still seem valid; hence weak oppose. Klbrain (talk) 15:04, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
