Materials[edit]
This article states that the painting is "oil-on-glass", yet the image in the Commons is tagged as "Öl auf Leinwand" (oil on linen). Which is it? -- Ziusudra (talk) 14:46, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
- Response: My mistake. I checked sources and found that I misinterpreted the Tekstura article. I've made the correction. Ugajin (talk) 21:06, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Who is Sadak?[edit]
Is Sadak a figure from mythology or fiction? Or an invention of the artist? 78.32.103.197 (talk) 15:09, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
- Response: As the article explains, Sadak is a fictional character in a 1764 story by James Ridley. I've re-phrased the text to make this clearer. Ugajin (talk) 21:06, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Mention od different versions[edit]
There are different versions of this painting: Sadak in Search of the Waters of Oblivion (Q20354692) (Boston, since 1961), i.e. prior to the 1983 discovery of the Sadak in Search of the Waters of Oblivion (Q7397516) St. Louis Version and the Sadak auf der Suche nach den Wassern des Vergessens (Q106805271) Southhampton Version. The Boston version is not mentioned and put into context in the article. Perhaps somebody with literature at hand, could resolve this. --Wuselig (talk) 10:24, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
