Trimming content[edit]

The page is extremely long, very, very detailed, and not really in keeping with content guidelines and wiki policies (particularly content forking). Subsequent use of names past the initial mention in lead should be family name only, which I think is Bhau. WLU (talk) 13:35, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

'Bhau' which means 'brother' was Sadashivrao's nickname as he was the Peshwa's cousin brother. That was the name he was commonly known as during his time. For general usage, Sadashivrao should be ok. Salilb (talk) 23:00, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccuracies and Lack of References[edit]

The article has a number of inaccuracies. The section "Final battle and death" says : "Durrani planned to kill the opposing leader and Vishwasrao, Bhau's nephew and heir to Nanasaheb Peshwa. A stray cannon shell hit Vishwasrao's head and he died on the spot. Bhau departed the battlefield to visit the corpse and plunged into the army, with devastating effect on the morale of his troops". These statements are self-conflicting. Since Vishwasrao was on the battleground when he was killed, Sadashivrao Bhau cannot have left it.

The article mentions only one source. The account of Bhau's death and subsequent exile of his family are inconsistent with the source. The source states that Sadashivrao Bhau died on the battlefield. The statements about his son joining the Khalsa are similarly without any reference.

Is it possible to modify the above statements? Please give your views.

Yes also there are conflicting statements regarding his dead body.

In subsection "death" "His headless body was found in the heap of dead bodies three days after the war. It was identified by the Maratha Vakil who were with the camp of left Marathas with Kashiraj Pandit, the wazir of Shuja Ud Daula"

But in the following subsection "family" "Sadashivrao is supposed to have died in the battle of Panipat but his dead body was never found. Parvatibai refused to accept that her husband was dead and did not live a widow's life." Phani Karthik (talk) 01:36, 8 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Sadashivrao Bhau[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Sadashivrao Bhau's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
