Safeco Plaza[edit]

Emporis calls this Safeco Plaza but Safeco Plaza redirects to another building. This building has a colorful history including a very brief history as tallest west of the Mississippi. I want to add some info but the redirect confuses things. Americasroof (talk) 16:07, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is Seattle's Safeco Plaza the first "Vierendeel space frame"?[edit]

I asked a question over on the Talk:Space frame, but I'll ask here, too. This page currently claims that the building is:

...the first skyscraper in the world to feature a Vierendeel space frame.(citation: Safeco Plaza at Emporis)

Note that neither "Vierendeel" nor "space frame" link to Space frame. Should they? Is the claim correct? The space frame article seems to imply there are earlier space frame buildings, but I don't know if they are "Vierendeel" space frames. -- RobLa (talk) 01:37, 29 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Prior building on northeast corner of site[edit]

If someone fleshes out the article more: here's a photo of the Elks Lodge (BPOE) that used to stand on the northeast corner of the site (southwest corner of 4th Ave and Spring Street) and was among the buildings torn down to build this. - Jmabel | Talk 04:22, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
