例：「笑われる」→「笑わるう」または「笑わるっ」、「寝ろ」→「寝れ」 I get how laugh conjugates here. But the neru conjugation is a mystery. Anyone know how to explain this rule?Claytonian 13:14, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification on Pronunciation[edit]

In addition, Saga-ben also has the unique pronunciations of "za, zu, ze, da, ga," and "na" rendered as "jya, jyu, jye, jya, gya," and "nya", respectively. Do jya, jyu, and jye indicate simply hompohones of the Standard Japanese pronunciations of じゃ、じゅ、 and じぇ, or is there actually a y sound pronounced (i.e., [dZja], [dZju], [dZje]?) That is, is the use of jya, jyu, and jye here simply the fairly common informal romanization of those, or does it indicate a different pronunciation? Based on the pronunciations given for the s-row, I'm guessing there's no actual /j/ sound.

Also, am I correct in understanding that this dialect has no distinction between しゃ and さ, しゅ and す, and しょ and そ? Nik42 23:37, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
