Items article

Just so everyone working on this knows, we're also developing a Sailor Moon items article. It can currently be worked on at Wikipedia:WikiProject Sailor Moon/List of Sailor Moon items. When it gets up and running, this would be an excellent thing to merge in. Looks great! Please feel free to help out with the list! :) --Masamage 23:20, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Move

Why was this article moved? It has the wrong title now--look at WP:NAME#Prefer_singular_nouns. It can't even be reverted; I'm going to have to request and official page move to set it right. --Masamage 07:02, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Looking at the edit history, I think I see the mistake. (Sorry I freaked out; I thought something had gotten deleted in the process, and was very confused. My mistake.) Just please don't make page moves without discussion unless they're absolutely certain to be uncontroversial. And don't worry; I made the request, and it'll be switched back over to its singular form in pretty short order. --Masamage 07:28, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Aaand it's done. We're in business. --Masamage 07:53, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Thats my fault sorry! I made a mistake and was trying to fix it, but it wouln't let me go back to the orginal page I was trying to merge the data into the items page.... But things didn't go so well and This was the best I could do! (From now on i'll let you handle this stuff... Its harder than i thought X_x) Lego3400: The Sage of Time 16:58, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Holy Grail

We need someone to verify how it was made in the anime manga.. We have conflicting statments all over the place.. Here it says the 3 make the one from the future and the 8 make the present but the other placesw its swaped —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lego3400 (talkcontribs)

:in the anime it was the three talismans together what made it Sailor cuteness 12:58, 7 December 2006 (UTC)\

Actully not it self... It says one thing here and something else other places. Lego3400: The Sage of Time 16:25, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Which places? And what version is true? --Masamage 22:49, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Sacred Treasures of the Emperor

I was looking around at all SM wiki pages and noticed no one has added the information regarding how the three talismans match with the three sacred treasures of Japan: the Sword of the Emperor, the Yasakani Jewel, and the Yata Mirror. Some info about them can be found here: Order of the Sacred Treasure. I do not persoally know enough about them to add them in, but it would certainly be informative and relevant to the richness of illusions and puns within the Sailormoon universe. :) -- NatsukiGirl\talk 21:10, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

here's the blurb in question "The insignia of the order incorporates symbols for the three imperial treasures: the Yata Mirror, so sacred that not even the Emperor is allowed to look at it; the Yasakani Jewel, which is made of the finest jade; and the Emperor's personal Sword." -- NatsukiGirl\talk

Deep Aqua Mirror

I believe in the anime it was named something else, Submarine Mirror, I believe? Should that be included? Not a hhuge paragraph, maybe a short sentence. --Hitsuji Kinno 16:31, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

The Oracle has it as the Deep Aqua Mirror even in the anime; of course the Oracle is not infalliable, but I trust it more than most other sources. Anyone have an anime book? --Masamage 16:33, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

I think in Super it was called submarine mirror and in stars its called deep aqua mirror ♥Eternal Pink-Ready to fight for love and grace♥ 13:41, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Red blade

What's this about the Space Sword being red? --Masamage 01:46, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Pluralizing name

I've been thinking that this article should probably be moved to the plural form of its name, Talismans (Sailor Moon). My reason for this is that it talks about three specific items as an inseparable group, rather than an array of non-unique items that can be generalized about (like pokéball). This would fit it in with other articles that have pluralized names, like Sailor Starlights and Sailor Moon musicals. Sound okay? --Masamage 18:39, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

I agree thats how i think they said it in the series I would have brought it up aswell if I noticed it :} ♥Eternal Pink-Ready to fight for love and grace♥ 18:41, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

You've got it wrong there, they say talisman in the anime. "Talismans" doesn't roll off the tongue very cleanly, but if it's the correct English plural, then go for it. -- RattleMan 19:16, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
o yere i remember pluto told them to use there "talisman" aganst the Germatoid dolls ♥Eternal Pink-Ready to fight for love and grace♥ 19:19, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
So they say 'talisman' even when talking about all three? That's interesting. (As a Japanese quirk; I think we should still move it. X)) --Masamage 19:20, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
I agree (again) because its english wikipedia so we should use english grammar (even though I destroy grammar on a daly basis) ♥Eternal Pink-Ready to fight for love and grace♥ 19:24, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
if we change it should we mention they use it as a singular not a plural ♥Eternal Pink-Ready to fight for love and grace♥ 20:54, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
But Japanese have no plurals (I could go over why, but I doubt anyone really cares). The best you get is Usagi-taichi which isn't really a plural. SuperS the s is used as a misuse and understanding of English, where the"s" is supposed to be "extra" super, but this doesn't rally make sense in English context. (there could be an argument that it's engrish too). Senshi has no plural, manga, anime, etc have no plurals, however if it's imported into the US it usually gets s tacked on regardless of original grammar rules and recognition by the community to the contrary. The question is then, do we regard this word as a Japanese imported from English word (keep), or do we regard it as an American word using Japanese grammar rules, thus we should restore it? --Hitsuji Kinno 02:29, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
I think it should definitely be treated with English grammar rules, since that's where it originally come from. They probably would have used a plural if they had any. X) (And incidentally: tachi, not taichi). --Masamage 04:23, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Okay, mostly in agreement, looks like. This seems uncontroversial enough that, instead of setting a date for this to be objected to by, I'm going to go ahead with the move now, and make the one edit that that will require. It is, of course, never too late to object or to revert the change, so speak up if you've been meaning to do so. --Masamage 01:03, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Images

The three individual images are redundant with the top image, and thus violate fair use. They're not really adding anything. Shall we do away with them? --Masamage 01:09, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

I hope no ones mad but I went ahead and removed them ♥Fighting for charming Love♥ 22:12, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
'Kay. I'll put "orphaned" tags on them. They won't be deleted for a week, so someone can still come forward about it. --Masamage 03:02, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
While they did look nice, and thereby make the page look nicer. Yeah its fine... If We could use them i'd say keep them but since we're already in hot water over images, i'd say we best get rid of them. The only other way we could use them is to put them in the corrisponinding paragraph in their owner's powers section.--Lego3400: The Sage of Time 16:15, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Space Sword

Its red... In the anime... While she's useing it glows white, but when the glow fades, you see a blade that is clearly red. You also see her pull it out of its's sheath. Many fans think the sheath is the blade but its not.Lego3400: The Sage of Time 16:12, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

In stars it goes red when galaxia brakes it ♥Fighting for charming Love♥ 16:39, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. And where's the sheath thing? --Masamage 21:43, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
the sheath was in where they first got the Talismans she took it of when they beat the tomoe dolls (il get episode numbers in a sec) ♥Fighting for charming Love♥ 21:46, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
110 "Death of Uranus and Neptune!? Talismans Appear" is when the sheath apperes on the sword ♥Fighting for charming Love♥ 21:49, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Weird; I don't remember that at all. I'll take a look when I get home. --Masamage 21:53, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I remember thinking that wasnt the same blade in stars and was confused untill she took it off to kill Germatoid ♥Fighting for charming Love♥ 21:55, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Short note on item name fix.

I changed the name of the Holy Grail to the Holy Chalice since this is the name that Takeuchi-sensei uses when referring to the object. In the anime there is Bandai packaging that lists it as the Rainbow Moon Cálice, which later becomes the Holy Moon Cálice. I fixed it on other pages too.

I also added the Submarine mirror as a short sentence in the Deep Aqua Mirror section. --;; Pain, I hope it's worth it. --Hitsuji Kinno 18:46, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Do you have any sort of source for this? Noone calls it the Holy Chalice and per WP:COMMONNAME we should not be changing it from something easily recognizable to something terribly difficult to type out without a damn good reason. Thanks. Kyaa the Catlord 09:23, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
