Seven Saint-Léon-le-Grand, Quebec placenames in CGNDB[edit]

There are seven such places in Quebec, according to CGNDB (Canadian Geographical Names Database). The others are not incorporated but are named only as "Unincorporated area" or "geographic area":

  • Saint-Léon-le-Grand Que. Unincorporated area Saint-Léon-le-Grand, La Matapédia 022B05
  • Saint-Léon-le-Grand Que. Geographical area Saint-Léon-le-Grand, La Matapédia 022B05
  • Saint-Léon-le-Grand Que. Geographical area Val-Racine, Le Granit 021E06
  • Saint-Léon-le-Grand Que. Geographical area Saint-Léon-le-Grand, Maskinongé 031I07
  • Saint-Léon-le-Grand Que. Geographical area Launay, Abitibi

The Maskinongé and Matapédia entries would appear to be related to the two already listed, i.e. the geographic area and/or unincorporated areas surrounding the municipalities (which CGNDB names "villages"). The others I know little about, and what the naming conventions are for Quebec. e.g. would they be:

or like the Matapedia entry, which is in (?) Bas-St. Laurent, or would there be RCMs or other region names which would be more appropriate? There's also Lac Saint-Léon as well as other places in Canada; see St. Leon disambiguation page and do the CGNDB search for a full listing.Skookum1 (talk) 20:51, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
