Modern/Classical spelling in lyrics[edit]

This song is written in a form of Classical Japanese, yet it is spelled on the page using post-1945 orthography. While the song's perennial popularity probably accounts for this fact, it is somewhat anachronistic. I think the presence of readable kana and Romaji transcription is enough for there to be no problems in justifying the change. Wrong Syllable?[edit]

In both the text and the sheet music, the line “yayoi no sora wa“ has the Japanese versions ending with the character for ha rather than wa. I know little Japanese. It looks to me like an error. Sicherman (talk) 15:42, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
