A paleolinguist G. Kacarov deduces that Salda (variant Saldo) was also the Thracian name of a river in Moesia, a river now called Panega; the izvor (spring) associated with the river was called Saldobyssa [1] in Thracian (now the spring is called Glava Panega/Zlatna Panega?).
