Untitled[edit]

I'm so glad that a Sally article was finally written; She's my favorite character in the movie!
dogman15 03:14, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mine too! --Uzzo2 03:46, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You guys are men, aren't you? ANNAfoxlover 23:43, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, at least I am. I'm 99% sure that Uzzo2 is a guy. -dogman15 05:24, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I am male --Uzzo2 23:33, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Picture Heading[edit]

The words "Sally Carrera" above Sally's picture are black, and they do not show up well against the blue backround. If I knew how to change the color of those words, I would.
-dogman15 00:35, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

--I'll fix it. All you have to do is change the text value from "Black" to "White" --Uzzo2 23:53, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Last Name[edit]

Where was her last name established? I've seen the movie a few times and I don't remember ever hearing it. -WarthogDemon 05:17, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's a good question. I don't deny it, and I agree with it, but I have to admit that I've never officially seen her last name printed in Pixar material.

It's in the closing credits (near 1:49:50) in the 2006 film, "Sally Carrera" (Bonnie Hunt) as third name listed, after Lightning McQueen and Doc Hudson. 66.102.83.61 (talk) 23:18, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Real Porsche[edit]

I like the idea of having a real Porsche in the article for comparison, but if a picutre exists on Wikipedia's servers that more closely resembles Sally, perhaps that would be a better choice for inclusion. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dogman15 (talkcontribs) 08:33, 5 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]
Perhaps this picture: (And not that other picture! - I am going to take that out.)
- dogman15 08:39, 5 January 2007 (UTC) Okay, first of all, I'm like the only one typing on this discussion page. That aside, I don't think I want that real Porsche picture there anymore, so I'm taking it out, by my preference. -dogman15 21:08, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Age[edit]

Me and my sister, Ann Turner, have come up with the fact that Lightning McQueen is at least 21 years old in the movie, because he and Sally co-re-open the Wheel Well Motel at the end. You have to be 21 to own (or co-own) a building AND AN ATTORNEY!!!!!!. That means that Lightning McQueen and Sally Carrera are both at least 21. Sally is probably younger than McQueen, who is so attracted to her. Sally is PROBABLY 23 or 24, which would make Lightning McQueen around 24 or 25 or 26. By the way, THIS IS HARD LOGIC!!! SOMEONE HELP US!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!! 71.210.202.172 15:33, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you. I say that Lightning is 25, and Sally is 23. While we're on this subject, I'm gonna say my opionions about the other ages of characters. Mater is probably in his 30s, Sarge and Shierff in their 50s, Filmore is in his 40s, and Doc is in his 60s. Mia and Tia are probably anywhere from 17 to 22, but they're both the same age. Chick Hicks is maybe in his 30s, and The King is probably in his 50s. I could go on, but I seem to remember that Wikipedia used to tell the cars' ages on their respective articles at one time. If anyone else has triva age theories, you may put them here. -dogman15 05:17, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If Sarge deployed at all during World War II (as his veteran plates indicate), there's no way he's a mere 50. For some of the others, the characters were based on real people on U.S. Route 66; Fillmore was Route 66 artist Bob Waldmire, famous for publishing hand-drawn maps of 66. Sally is Dawn Welch of the Rock Café, which she acquired at age 23 in 1993. Her town on US 66, Stroud, Oklahoma, was damaged by tornadoes in 1999 and was still rebuilding when Pixar started researching US66 for Cars (2006) in 2001. There's a long list on Ron Warnick's route66news.com/2006/06/09/a-route-66-guide-to-the-cars-movie matching people to characters and real US66 locations to individual Cars landmarks. It would therefore be possible to determine the ages of many of the real people on whom these characters were based, including Flo, Sally and a few others. 66.102.83.61 (talk) 18:12, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

i've been doing research, the age of McQueen and Sally is 44 and 38 on 2021. which is perfect for an mariage number, 6 years diffrent age. but it's what Disney desire, all we do is just to respect it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 103.144.179.33 (talk) 09:48, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tattoo[edit]

Maybe worth to mention: Sally's tatoo in her back resembles a Lower back tattoo, making it particularly interesting to McQueen, who embarrassed Sally when asked her for it. --Manuel Cuevas 17:53, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's actually an article for lower back tattooes? -dogman15 05:24, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Like lightning sees that tatto under Sally's tailfin and he says "Hey? Do i spy a little pinstriping tatoo back there?!" But Sally says "Oh thats just oh-you saw that-just gonna be going then i yeah!" very embarresd! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.136.42.60 (talkcontribs)
There sure is a Wikipedia article for Lower back tattooes, check the link. --Manuel Cuevas 18:35, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I was being sarcastic. -dogman15 05:20, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More on the picture[edit]

What if I have another screenshot from the movie of Sally, and I think it looks better (no lightning)? Is it against Wikipedia policy to have two simmilar pictures? The picture I'm talking about is the scene where Sally first enters the courtroom. We could keep the current picture in the List of Cars characters article, but this page deserves a cooler picture, where Sally looks better. (No, I'm not crazy.) -dogman15 05:55, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, that's it. It's been 24 hours. I'm uploading my picture of her, and if anyone deletes it, I'll try not to be offended. If that's how it has to be, then so be it. -dogman15 03:30, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I chickened out. I actually uploaded the standard, forward-facing pose released to the press, and I put it on the List of Cars characters. Now, unless anyone objects, I will now boldly upload another picture, just to experiment with it's look, and if no one likes it, then delete it. No turning back now. -dogman15 04:58, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There. I did it. Now delete it if you want; the only reason I put in the new picture was as an expirement to see if Wikipedia wants it. Heck, you can even block me if you want, but I did what I thought was okay to do on Wikipedia. -dogman15 05:03, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ancilliary Materials[edit]

What are "ancilliary materials"? -dogman15 21:06, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What does it mean???[edit]

Her license plate is 301PCE but what does it stand for? 24.4.243.38 00:37, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PCE does not appear on regular-series California plates (reserved as an example.org-like code) so that it may be used in film props, according to [1]. 66.102.83.61 (talk) 04:12, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
