Infobox

I think that the infobox on this temple is WAY too long. Some stuff like: "Cafeteria, phone number, floor area, exterior finish, temple design" and so on. It's just stupid, it needs to be cut down to important information. Any other thoughts? Mbatman72 22:47, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

It is long, but the kind of information in it would make pretty boring prose if it were moved to the article body: “It has a cafeteria. It has 253,015 square feet. It has clothing rental.” The info is relevant to the subject, verifiable, with sources provided. I think the info box is the perfect place for it. Jaksmata 03:00, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Again, it is not necessarily relevant, I think that this was put in for people interested in attending this particular temple. I totally think that sort of information is useful, just not on wikipedia, an encyclopedia. If it cannot be worked into the article I think it should simply be removed. Also same deal with the pictures, too many. This article needs more information, not useless items of interest.Mbatman72 04:52, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Architectural Style

The presence of the spires doesn't make it Gothic. The overall proportions of the building are fairly close to those of a Gothic cathedral, but the rounded arches are Romanesque, and the interior seems to be neoclassical and neo-Baroque.

Info missing

This is quite the terse article for this being the "showpiece" of the LDS church. Why is there no information on the temple annex or chapel, or the underground tunnels to get to it, or the separate building just for the entrance to the temple etc.? There is nothing about the expansion of the temple...why are there no details about the construction, the quarrying and hand carving of thousands of stones, the architecture, the surrounding grounds, etc? This article is basically just a stub. Please expand...there's a wealth of books written just about this building...can't we do more than just what is here? Where is the mention of the unique designs of this building, about the assembly hall, elevator shafts, the spiral staircases in the towers, the significance of the designs? I'm so disappointed in the quality of this article that it deserves an expansion tag. Twunchy (talk) 08:00, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

I, too, was surprised at the lack of content present in this article. I had been struck by the building's beauty and wanted to learn more about its architecture, but there is no mention of such in the article.
The information that is present is not clear. In the info box, for example... what order of succession is referred to by the "number", "preceeded by", and "followed by" fields? This may be clear to readers within the LDS community, but to the average wikipedia user, there is no context given. - TampAGS (talk) 23:12, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

There is a sentence in the middle that just seems out of context, "The Angel Moroni is twelve and one half feet tall." it has not context with rest of the paragraph but seems like info is missing —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.192.37.145 (talk) 19:02, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

You're right - there was no context given for that. I've made an edit to add context and show the relationship between the capstone and the statue. – jaksmata 14:32, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
