which probably reflects confusing him with his wife, in light of statements that Butch Cassidy ('69) was his debut, & of her appearance in both of those. Or it could be vandalism. If there's any basis provide a source next time.

"characterization"[edit]

"In films, he is often characterized by his rangy physique, thick horseshoe moustache, and deep, resonant speaking voice."

What does the writer mean by "characterized by"? That he is cast simply because he has certain physical attributes, with his acting ability of little or no concern? I don't think that's it. I've rewritten the line to something I think more appropriate and accurate. WilliamSommerwerck (talk) 12:37, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sam Elliott[edit]

Surprised that the movie, "Mask" (in which Sam Elliott played the boyfriend of Cher), is not mentioned in the notes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.50.47.191 (talk) 18:04, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Corrected Sam Elliott's omission from the Television credit "Mission: Impossible". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.150.169.213 (talk) 08:22, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

poor photo[edit]

Could you find a photo that looks even less like Mr Elliott? I realize you're limited to copyright-free images, but if someone asked me "Who is that?", Sam Elliott would have been my tenth or eleventh guess. WilliamSommerwerck (talk) 12:01, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Looks a lot more like the late Dermot Morgan aka Father Ted! HappHazzard (talk) 07:55, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously, the article even mentions his "signature horseshoe moustache", and then the picture is possibly the only picture in existence of him without a moustache. 184.175.41.10 (talk) 12:14, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

He's not Sam Elliott without his signature moustache. I would have never guessed the current image were him, especially coming from 'The Ranch' on Netflix where his BA stache is as much a character as anyone else. SDStoryteller (talk) 04:44, 26 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

"All of this is a complete lie." In the "Early Life" section.

I don't know what's accurate, what isn't, so I'm not going to try to fix it. 108.219.39.17 (talk) 16:57, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Sacketts (1979) Mini-series[edit]

I hope I didn't over look these. I wanted to suggest adding The Sacketts (1979) Mini-series based on Louis L'amour's book. Also, I may have missed it when reading, The Shadow Riders 1982 (film) 08-24-15 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sancira (talkcontribs) 15:11, 24 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not Named Sutter Memorial Hospital At The Time Sam Elliott Was Born[edit]

The hospital was named Sutter Maternity Hospital until 1957, when the name was changed to Sutter memorial Hospital.

Sutter Memorial Hospital opened to the community in 1937 as Sutter Maternity Hospital https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sutter_Medical_Center#Sutter_Memorial_Hospital

In 1950, Sutter Maternity was the birthplace of 3,874 babies, which was about half of the number of babies born in the city during the entire year.

Seven years later, Sutter Maternity became known as Sutter Memorial Hospital.
