In my opinion, this article either lacks sufficient Attribution that it satisfies the Notability criteria for Biographies, or it may violate the Conflict of interest guideline, or perhaps it is a Copyright violation.

Untitled[edit]

Wikipedia articles must be based on reliable sources to verify any claims of notability. Even though the lack of reliable source attribution in an article is not grounds for deletion in itself, an article with absolutely no sources (or only external links to unreliable ones) suggests to some editors that multiple reliable sources may not, in fact, exist.

Although I am considering tagging this article for deletion according to the Deletion policy, I am nonetheless willing to assist User:ArleArt (talk · contribs), and other recent contributors to this article, to make constructive improvements to it ... I do not have time to examine this article in depth at the moment, and it may improve over time, in which case this warning was premature.

Please respond on this Discussion page, instead of on my Talk page, in order to avoid fragmenting the conversation. —72.75.72.63 (talk) 08:41, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I object to this and all the articles that have been tagged under Cuban Contenpoary Artists. Yes while agree that mosr do not have references. All are listed in the Spanish Wikipedia. All are notable and given time and alot of work all can be found references, mostly in Cuban publications.. All most all of these persons have their works in national museums in their permanent collections and that in itself would make them notable. Callelinea (talk) 19:36, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"References"[edit]

I have changed the References section to External links, because that's all they are ... they are not reliable source citations that demonstrate "significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject" (WP:BIO) ... nonetheless, I have replaced the URLs with {{cite web}} tags, and used {{imdb name}} to replace a URL provided by Some Other Editor.

Notability[edit]

Two of the "External Links" are from Cuban government web pages.. I would think that a government web page would be considered a reliable source.. And if they are a reliable source then the person in question is NOTABLE. Callelinea (talk) 02:22, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok works for me. MBisanz talk 02:25, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cuban websites[edit]

"Curiouser and curiouser," said Alice ... I had trouble accessing URLs for Cuban websites the other day, but I can access these Just Fine ... if I can remember the other articles where I had a revert war with Some Other Editor, then I'll "make 'em pretty" like this one (if they haven't been already :-) ...
