Tenure years should overlap[edit]

Tenure years should overlap. San Francisco elections are held on the regular election day on November and the District Attorney takes office January 3 of the following year. Except for Daniel J. Murphy, most if not all DAs need their term extended by 1 year because they served until January 3 of the following year. But, in Wikipedia, we have to go by what we find in a reliable source, and the best reliable source so far is the history page of the DA's office, which doesn't account for two or three days of service into the new year. Wikipedia standard is to show office holders serving in a year even if they served only one day of that year, so what's needed are reliable sources showing the actual dates that SF DA terms actually ended. —Anomalocaris (talk) 03:33, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
