Merger[edit]

The San Francisco A.C. can be merged with this one since this article covers everything in the other article and expands on the subject. Libro0 (talk) 01:12, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with a merge; San Francisco A.C. has existed since March 2011 (I'm creator), San Francisco I.A.C. was created by the proposer a few days ago, so a merge seems sensible. GiantSnowman 11:33, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The articles appears to cover two different subjects. Location (talk) 03:11, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

For future reference[edit]

It appears as though San Francisco A.C. was merged to San Francisco Italian Athletic Club without further discussion. Unfortunately, the history for the former article was lost in that merge. This article and the official website of the SFIAC state that the SFIAC formed in 1917, and that it was not named "San Francisco Athletic Club" until the WWII era: [1]. For future reference, there are other sources that show the San Francisco Athletic Club actually predates the formation of the SFIAC: 1885, prior to 1902,prior to 1903, prior to 1913, 1901 (lists the club's HQ at Sixth and Shipley; SFIAC was at different location: [2]), 1904 (represented in the Olympics), 1888, 1897, etc. Location (talk) 14:35, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The SFAC article created by GiantSnowman was in reference to the 'Italian' club rather than the one you have cited above. You opposed the merger assuming that there were two different subjects. Libro0 (talk) 02:19, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
