Founding date[edit]

The original reference cited for this article states that the townsite was laid out in 1911, and that Sand Springs was incorporated in 1912. I think the year of incorporation should be used as the founding date.

Neutrality[edit]

I think your point is valid. The citation for promotional material at the end of the opening paragraph suggests it was taken from C of C publication, though I haven't seen the original. Anyway, I took the liberty of removing it. Bruin2 (talk) 01:34, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

location[edit]

According to openstreetmap (which is trusted by Wikipedia) it has that Sand Springs is barely within the limits of Creek county. On google Maps ( i know not the best but just seeing what that has to offer) it has it within the borders of creek county (although it doesnt immediately show the county). But whilst Oklahoma Historical society only says Tulsa county. If anyone want to put their opinion in this and help sort this out. Jerry Steinfield (talk) 05:05, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not going to update the map sentence since it isnt "detailed enough" to properly see the small section within creek County. Ok so the area around the border is an area called “Rock Creek Community”, but the area it is located around W 61st (the border street) but the area that mostly flows within Creek County, so since it’s (the RCC) borders aren’t really defined so I wouldn’t include it as some information or source within the borders of the counties. The borders of the overlap between Sand Springs and Creek County is a bit of W 61st and E0650 Rd. Whilst open street map kinda seems to portray a bigger sand springs (kinda), it has the part of the photo that represents the shape of Sand Springs, but it does correctly show sand Springs. so in its picture form on the page if you disclude the "extra" spaces of the land then the border would W 61st South. That would mean that Sand Springs still is definitively in Creek County as on the OPenStreetMap it shows that while Sapulpa is very close to entering Tulsa county it is blocked by Sand Springs's small section of land in Creek county. even Part of the housing of 60th Street South is in Sand Springs's area of Creek County.
