Sanpits edit by CaroleHenson[edit]

I much prefer the previous text to the text that User:CaroleHenson put in for the San Pitch Utes and Chief Sanpitch. The new text now has inconsistent punctuation after the bulleted names (previously all colons, now mixed colons and commas), inconsistent capitalization after the bulleted names (previously capitalized), and doesn't even capitalize 'Sanpits.' It's possible to make a link to the new article (San Pitch Utes) without making other changes, which is what I'd prefer. Sanpitch (talk) 00:28, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I prefer to include "Sanpits" somewhere there to help remind us that our American English transliteration of the name of the tribe is likely imperfect. I also understand that some American Indians prefer this. BTW, my guess is that the reason that we got "San" separated out into "San Pitch" is from all the "San" cities in the American West left over from Spanish and Mexican rule. I.e. San Francisco, San Bernardino, San Bruno, San Leandro, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo and San Rafael.
