Purpose of article[edit]

Is this article about the Satsuma domain (Satsuma-han 薩摩藩, the governmental structure, to which it links in Japanese) or is it about a clan (such as the Shimazu clan 島津氏, the family of daimyo and nobles who, beginning with Tadahisa, born 1180, and continue today)? If it's about the domain, then an appropriate title for the article might be Satsuma Domain or Satsuma Han. Fg2 05:18, September 11, 2005 (UTC)

Geographical extension[edit]

The article says "The territory is largely contiguous with today's Kagoshima prefecture, and parts of Miyazaki prefecture."

The word "contiguous" means "bordering on", is this what is intended here, or should it say that the territory largely is the same as today's Kagoshima prefecture etc? OMHalck (talk) 07:02, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
