Entrance to the park? Really?[edit]

Is it really an entrance to the park? It was built over an old parking lot and stands on Pitt campus between Posvar Hall and the Carnegie Library. You have to go through CMU's campus to even get to Schenley park! 141.151.175.214 (talk) 05:05, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the Schenley Plaza area was originally designed to be a grand entrance to the park coming off of Bigelow Blvd. Although the original designs as they were intended were not realized because of its use as a parking lot for most of its life, its modern remake is considered the a modern realization of the those original designs and the grand entrance to Schenley Park. In any case, the Bellefield bridge to Flagstaff Hill has always been the main entrance to the park. A major entrance has never been through CMU (or Carnegie Tech) whether coming from Squirrel Hill or Oakland. CrazyPaco (talk) 08:08, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
