proposed page split[edit]

The main article for this subject is academic publishing, so this should nogically be scientific publishing, which would discuss in somewhat more detail the publishing aspects of the scientific literature. The intellectual aspects and structure of scientific literature is really a separate subject from that, and does belong under this heading. I would propose to carry out this split by starting a new page, and moving the appropriate text (and fixing the links)-- and then adding the rest of the material that is needed. problems[edit]

two problems have been inserted-- one is reuse of material--a real problem that has been discussed but needs some sourcing, and the other is that print publications do notlike usingcolor becauseof the expense.--a problem gradually becoming much lessimportant. In almost all fields ofscience, onlinepublication avoids thisdifficulty. The subjects not having online publication are byu and =large some fieldson the humanities, not sciencticv literaure. And of course there are many other problem, most of much great importance -- affordability, open access, multiplicity of publication outlets, and everything else discussed in the article and related articles.. Removed bias allegations[edit]

I removed the sentence that alleged bias against by English language journals against articles written in the 3rd world. No citation was provided but one had been requested and never produced. I did this because there was no evidence presented to support the claim, and the claim is against the fundamental science principle of neutrality, and it is counter-intuitive to my own empirical observations of papers being successfully published by ESL people and people in the developing world.
