The Government section kinda trails off there[edit]

Was that supposed to say House of Representatives or Senate? Shtanto (talk) 17:42, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"Notable People" -- should we have it?[edit]

On January 25, 2020, a power-user named "SNUGGUMS" removed Scituate's Notable People section, giving as a reason that it was mostly unsourced, plus "notable people" is a POV description and this was probably cherry-picked based on someone's subjective views on who is/isn't important.

I don't totally disagree with their reasoning -- I've cleaned up vandalism in the Notable People section in the past -- but... is this appropriate?

Are cities and towns not allowed to claim their Notable People?

At least 30 of Scituate's Notable People were linked to their own Wikipedia pages. Were/are all of these people "notable"? Probably not important to a random person living in Tibet, but arguably important to people who are interested in Scituate.

Meanwhile, this is the first time SNUGGUMS has edited the Scituate page.

I think it's worth discussing. Which is why I didn't just "undo" SNUGGUM's change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Magnabonzo (talkcontribs) 16:52, 20 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

EDIT I take back my effort to be reasonable, above. I saw that neighboring towns Cohasset and Norwell, and Weymouth which is almost next door, still have their Notable People sections. I'm going to undelete Scituate's. Magnabonzo (talk) 17:59, 20 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
