Merging[edit]

Conceptually the 'Sea of Faith' tends to denote the ideas of the organisation whereas the 'Sea of Faith Network' emphasises the organisation structure. 'Sea of Faith' and 'Sea of Faith Network' tends to be used synonymously in many circumstances however. As long as the Wikipedia search facility points to the corresponding article whichever name is used, then I guess there's unlikely to be a problem merging the 'Sea of Faith Network' into the 'Sea of Faith' article. In fact, all the information in the 'Sea of Faith Network' article is already in the 'Sea of Faith' article. EGrabczewski 10 Dec 2006

As writer of the original Sea of Faith article I agree that this one should be merged with it. There is clear reference to the network under the heading ORGANISATION. I would suggest removing the phrase "This is referred to as the Sea Of Faith Network" and changing the heading to ORGANISATION - SEA OF FAITH NETWORK. It would also be nice if we could retain the name SEA OF FAITH NETWORK in the index in such a way that a reference to it would redirect to the main article. I am not a Wiki maven but I believe there is a way of doing this. -- redherring 15:57, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Guys, the redirect syntax is simple, just replace the entirety of this article with "#REDIRECT [[Sea of Faith]]". Cheers Mattmm 20:13, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Done! And thanks for the tip Mattmm! egrabczewski 7 Feb 2007
You're welcome. In general I've found that wading through the WP help pages doesn't get results - easier to find an example of what you're looking for and copy it! :) Mattmm 19:07, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
