What is a 'lyrical association' and where does this appear in the song 'Beautiful Girls'? It doesn't repeat any lyrics from 'Stand By Me'. I think whoever included this line is trying to call the artistic merits of 'Beautiful Girls' into question:

"The single, based on the exact bass line and some lyrical "association" of the 1961 hit "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King, reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for a total of five weeks, and has sinced topped the UK Single Charts as well."

Loads of songs have the same baseline as Stand By Me, indeed it appeared in classical music centuries ago! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.160.221.174 (talk) 19:47, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am not even sure the phrase "lyrical "association" of the 1961 hit" is even good grammar. I suggest striking the term 'lyrical association' because they aren't defined or proven, don't make any sense, make the sentence sound critical where it should just be factual, and may not even be proper grammar.202.82.171.186 01:58, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just reporting some inaccuracies in the Music Career text, 'Kingston co-wrote Jason Derulo's number one hit "Whatcha Say".' Yet he is uncredited on the writers of the song. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.172.34.203 (talk) 17:59, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've just listened to both songs and i haven't found any matches in lyrics and neither in the bassline so i would just delete that sentence —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aspergie (talkcontribs) 14:26, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Birthplace[edit]

Sean was born in Kingston, Jamaica and he moved to Singapore later in his early teens Blackjays1 01:47, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just looked at his Billboard.com profile. It says hes Miami-born and Jamaican-bred, and I will change the infobox to reflect this. Blackjays1 16:22, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that Billboard.com made a mistake, so now they claim that he was born in Kingston, Jamaica. [1] Blackjays1 16:46, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Year of birth 1990 or 1969?[edit]

There's some contradictory info about his age on this page. Which one is the right one?Dancehallqueen123 18:08, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Are you HIGH? Does he LOOK like he was born in 1969? Find any picture of this kid and you won't believe that he's actually even 17. 24.13.34.230 03:19, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Um, I was asking because the info box said he was born in 1969, while the introductory sentence stated that he was born in 1990... thus CONTRADICTORY INFORMATION. A person CANNOT be born in two different years. Dancehallqueen123 07:30, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well I beg the differ... 69.113.124.137 21:20, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah use some damn common sense....DOES HE LOOK 40 TO YOU???!!!??? If he does, get some glasses....anyway, i noticed another mistake. The official and correct title of Sean Kingston's first single is "Beautiful Girl" not "Beautiful Girls". There are very interchangable because he says both phrases throughout the song, but i can assure you the song is called "Beautiful Girl". If you find proof that i'm wrong, post it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.24.189.80 (talk) 08:15, August 25, 2007 (UTC)

Like I said, there was contradictory info on the page. I was not asking if he was really born in 1969. I was questioning why there are TWO DIFFERENT BIRTH YEARS FOR ONE PERSON. Dancehallqueen123 08:27, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see what you're saying, but in your question you typed the words, "Which one is correct?" That made me wonder about you're intelligence. That question doesn't need to be asked if you know the right answer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.24.214.123 (talk) 03:50, August 27, 2007 (UTC)

I'm done with this "conversation". There was no need for any of you to be so rude in the first place. If you wish to discuss this "matter" further, do so on MY talk page. Dancehallqueen123 22:38, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey the guy who wonders "about you're intelligence" should wonder why he's editing Wikipedia when he can't distinguish between 'your' and 'you're'.202.82.171.186 01:59, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I sometimes get the "Yours" mixed up, especially when typing fast. Touche.

what do you all know, he could have a disease like Gary Coleman that makes him look young. If you remember Jason Earles or Andy Milonakis, you'd be confused as well. Plus, some people could be 26 and look 16. ...I don't really know this SEan kingston because I'm not up to date with today's rap singers but I am just trying to make you all see why she thought this Punkymonkey987 (talk) 03:09, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Urban-American and Jamaican accent change[edit]

It says citisation is needed for that he changes accents. If you listen to the first line of Beautiful Girl he talks in urban accent, while the rest of the song is in jamaican accent. But whether or not that is considered "frequent changes" or whever.. it could still be noted. I'm going to check some of his songs (58s on bt) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.129.239.143 (talk) 05:00, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Full protection[edit]

This page should have full protection on it, as there has been too much vandalism to allow it free and open editing. I've had to removed tons of personal attacks on Sean Kingston. Protect this page, as personal opinions should not be on any article on Wikipedia, and are definitley NOT neutral.--EclipseSSD (talk) 20:11, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Samples[edit]

Does anyone know if the artists that he samples/steals from gets credit for their work? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.22.198.162 (talk) 15:05, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's highly likely, the days of people just taking samples uncredited is pretty much over, apart from maybe white label/dj scenes where they only press a few hundred for DJ's, too many people sued to take that chance, especially with someone targeted at the pop charts who will have money to sue for. Why is this article locked?[edit]

I have looked through the revision history and there's hardly been a sufficient amount of vandalism to warrant a lock, looking at the current quality of this article those who are working on this article should be welcoming any sort of help that comes there way. 68.219.26.177 (talk) 03:36, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Let's Do it Again?"[edit]

This song by Fabolous with Kingston and Ashley Tisdale hasn't been confirmed anywhere. Where was the information about this song being confirmed on Fabolous' new album, and with Sean Kingston as a Guest Star? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Philliesrock91 (talkcontribs) 05:08, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Second album[edit]

Sean Kingstons next signles are as follows:Red Dress (produced by J.R. Rotem), and Priceless produced by i don't know. Can someone please post these.

Someone should add this on his page...On a video blog, Sean Kingston states that hes working on his second album the source is: http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshh639k4JxwHY9A120t —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lala111 (talkcontribs) 23:33, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tomorrow (Sean Kingston album)[edit]

I have redirected the Tomorrow (Sean Kingston album) to this article, as it consists primarly of speculation. Although Kingston has confirmed that his second album is in production, no reliable sources have been provided for any song titles – all sources seem to be blogs which assume that a single released at this time will be on the album. This is a violation of WP:CRYSTAL as stated at WP:NALBUMS – there is a lack of reliable sources and the track listing "consists solely of blog or fan forum speculation about possible titles, or songs that might be on the album". Thanks. Cycle~ (talk) 00:33, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey[edit]

Actually in an interview with Ryan Secreast on American Top 40, Sean Kingston said he was born and raised in Florida, and his parents are from Jamaica. 74.167.245.190 (talk) 14:41, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Life and career and crowd[edit]

Really? Is there really a section of this article titled "Life and career and crowd"? Not only is that gramatically incorrect, but it is also cramming information into one section. Should this be cleaned up? 74.167.245.190 (talk) 14:39, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Poor health role model![edit]

Why isn't there a section discussing how Sean Kingston is a bad role model for promoting/glamorising obesity in teens?! He promotes unhealthy body image! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.159.111.98 (talk) 11:09, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sexual assault charge?[edit]

There's been multiple reports of Sean Kingston being accused of sexual assault (although he flat out denied the claims, and there's no proof of the assault). I just thought this would be worthy to put in his Wiki. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.137.111.232 (talk) 13:26, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gang rape lawsuit[edit]

In 2010 a woman alleged Kingston gang raped her - with his bodyguard and another band member also participating. She sued him and the outcome of the lawsuit was settled under unknown terms.
