Number of Dead and Wounded[edit]

There has been a bit of back and forth about the number of dead and wounded at the Second Battle of Pyramid Lake.

A February 6 edit by 2600:1010:B12D:577F:91DC:4812:3931:8534 changed the number of casualties of United States forces from 3 to 4.

I have a copy of Michno and on p. 75, they state that 25 Paiutes were killed and about 20 were wounded. 3 regulars and volunteers were killed and 5 wounded. I made the change back from 4 to 3.

A February 9 edit by a slightly different user 2600:1700:7270:2CB0:592F:6D14:BAD8:DFA7 changed the casualties from 3 to 4.

Both of these users have used the similar edit summary text, so perhaps the are the same user. I updated User_talk:2600:1700:7270:2CB0:592F:6D14:BAD8:DFA7 with a message.

I've seen many cases where various WP:RS sources report different figures for these sorts of things and if these users would include a reference, I'd be happy to see it included in the article. However, if there is no reference that supports 4 dead regulars and volunteers, then we should go with the 3 dead. Cxbrx (talk) 05:13, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
