International ship route Zoppot - Pillau - Helsinki / Helsingfors[edit]

The mention of this ones a week summer only regular ship route is missing from the article. There was also Pillau - Liepaja (Libau) - Riga service. Pillau was connected daily with two "ship express trains" from / to Königsberg Hbf and Königsberg Nordbf. These trains were the only ones which used Pillau Hafen, later Pillau Seedienstbahnhof. Arriving from Köningsberg Nordbahnhof at 11.41 and from Köninsberg Hauptbahnhof at 11.52. Departures from Pillau Seedienstbahnhof at 12.10 to Königsberg Hbf and at 12.23 to Königsberg Nordbf. These trains stopped at Metgethen, Fischhausen and Neuhäuser. At Fischhausen was also train connection from / to Palmnicken (18.4 km) and Grosse Dirschkeim (26.8 km). The ship arrived from Helsinki at 10.00 on Sundays to Pillau and departured from Pillau to Helsinki / Helsingfors at 13.00 on Wednesdays. This service was operated by Seedienst Ostpreussen with their ships. This connection was linked with daily Pillau - Zoppot service. The more known direct passenger ship connection was Helsinki / Helsingfors - (Tallinn / Reval) - Stettin and return with direct express train to / from Berlin Stettiner Bahnhof. The Zoppot - Pillau - Helsinki ship route is still little known and rarely mentioned. This service was operated to August 1939, the last Wednesday before Germany closed her borders on August 23.1939 at 00.00 for international cross border workings.
