Although the author of this page may seem to be related to the topic, this page does appear to adhere to the notability guidelines. Can someone please make some suggestions to preserve this page? This submission for this topic does fit with the guidelines set forth by Wikipedia. This page and discussion seem very similar to the Nucleus RTOS page. For the same reasons that the Nucleus RTOS page was kept, I believe that this page should be kept. As Mike Payne stated during that pages discussion, "Nothing seems to be at all like an advertisement to me... It doesn't say anything about how great it is, only facts about what it does. Seems like an encyclopedic article if I've ever seen one. I don't think it should be deleted." For another example; this also is very similar to the Green Hills Software discussion in which the end result was to keep. Segger patent dubious[edit]

This is the only JTAG emulator that can add Segger's patented flash breakpoint software to a debugger to enable the setting of multiple breakpoints in flash while running on an ARM device which is typically hindered by the limited availability of hardware breakpoints.

Just now I tried to locate that patent, and what I found in ten minutes was this:

Rolf Segger: Debugging code stored in EEPROM by inserting a breakpoint into code using a read/modify/write cycle on block containing individual instruction to be modified — 2010-02-03: withdrawn
Rolf Segger: Method for operating a microcontroller in a test environment — 2008-04-04: abandoned: failure to respond to an office action

Move article to become: SEGGER Microcontroller[edit]

The company today is called SEGGER Microcontroller GmbH, no mention of "systems" here. Does it make sense to reflect this in a modified page title? For completeness sake, the US subsidiary still carries "systems" in their name being the SEGGER microcontroller systems LLC 134.19.77.7 (talk) 09:56, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It use to be Segger Microcontroller Systems, per this archive https://web.archive.org/web/20060101192425/https://www.segger.com/ thus the article name isn't blatantly wrong. On September 1, 2023, I received an email from Dirk Akemann, Head of Marketing for SEGGER Microcontroller, who said either "SEGGER Microcontroller" or "SEGGER" is fine for a new article name as long as "SEGGER" is capitalized (to differentiate between the family name). • Sbmeirow • Talk • 17:54, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That isn't likely to happen per MOS:ALLCAPS:

Reduce names of companies or other trademarks from all caps to sentence case, unless they are acronyms or initialisms, even if the company normally writes them in all caps. See also Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Trademarks.
