Components of inversion[edit]

The paragraph reads: "Inversion includes both seismic data and well data, where well data serves to add the low frequency below the seismic band and to constrain the inversion." Isn't log data at a much higher frequency than seismic? Hamsterlopithecus (talk) 13:40, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, in fact the first thing you do is band-limit the well log data. The problem you are trying to address is seismic traditional doesn't resolve anything below ~8Hz. You fill this in with a low frequency model using anything you can. --Toastar (talk) 18:54, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
