New channels announcement[edit]

A1 has been re-branded as Nat geo Adventure

Sky Racing has started on Selectv

Real Madrid has been cancelled and replace by Weatherzone August 06 2007

SelecTV actually hasn't announced anything on their site about the new channels. The only one's been confirmed are the 5 Discovery channels (excluding 'Discovery Channel') and Al Jazeera. The rest seem to be speculation and reports from those who claim they are from Selectv (See the member Selecttv on the | DTV Forum

Also note that the 19/2/07 date has passed. Kennethjwebb 10:37, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OUTtv gone[edit]

Did SelectTV remove OUTtv from their line-up, if so when did it happen? MusiMax 01:50, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes outv has been gone a while now as they did not get many subscribers as you could imagine.

Page move[edit]

I suggest to revert the move of this page from SelecTV to SelecTV (Australian television). The primary meaning is obvious, and the hundreds of incoming links now go to a (malformed & unnecessary) disambigution page. I suspect the reversal of the page move will require administrative assistance from Wikipedia:Requested moves. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 06:01, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree with this. The user move was necessary to keep the US service and Australian service identified properly, separate with the disambigution page. The move to SelecTV (Australian television) properly identifies the service just like other Australian tv services: Sky Channel (Australia), Nickelodeon (Australia), GEM (Australian TV channel), Go! (Australian TV channel) and Galaxy (Australian television).Rivertown (talk) 19:03, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There was no need for the move; the hatnote at SelecTV was sufficient (but now superfluous). The purpose of disambiguators is not to identify but to disambiguate. More importantly, who's going to fix the hundreds of incoming links to SelecTV which are meant for the Australian variety? I don't see the user who performed the move, Mca2001, perform this job, as required by customary etiquette. It seems that User:R'n'B has dealt with templates which needed fixing, so I suppose a reversal of the move is now moot. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 03:29, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
