Reading Response for Semiotics of Fashion[edit]

After I read this article, I clearly understand what is semiotics. And I like how it connects with the fashion industry. The article mostly theoretically explains these things. Although it provides some specific examples to explain what is social semiotics and what is dress codes. I still think that maybe this article can include some designers examples, who applied semiotics in their works. This article’s references are very helpful as well. Needs some work[edit]

I'm a little concerned that this page needs a bit of work. The introductory paragraph cites a personal web site that no longer exists (although is cached at Google) of an author who claims to have years of expertise in fashion, but that site is not backed up by citations. Surely there is better sourcing—including published works—on fashion and semiotics out there. I'm also wondering about the relationship with the article Semiotics of dress. How do we distinguish between dress and fashion? Hence, why two articles? As someone who is not an expert, but is genuinely interested in the topic, I cannot imagine taking on the editing of this page, but I do crave a lengthier and better article.
