Correction for background frequencies[edit]

Sometimes calculated entropy values have to be corrected for the 'background frequencies' (average frequency, which is not always uniformly distributed) of nucleotides, as reported in the linked paper. Instead of using Shannon entropy, one could use Kullback-Leibler divergence with respect to the background frequency.
