Affairs[edit]

There, he immediately became involved with actress Augusta Miklashevskaya and is believed to have married her in a civil ceremony after obtaining his divorce from Isadora Duncan. Yesenin's affair with Galina Benislavskaya ended tragically: a year after his death she committed suicide at his grave. - this needs clarification - there's only this one reference to Galina Benislavskaya = was yesenin's affair with her during his marriage to miklashevskaya? - J. Russian movie[edit]

Someone should mention the Russian movie about his life, Esenin. I would, except that I do not know how to edit wikipedia pages.

Galina Benislavskaya was a GPU agent who was asked to "look after" the poet. She loved Esenin and apparently she did a lot to protect him from many dangers (13 criminal cases were initiated against Esenin with mediation of GPU) Esenin didn't enter into her feeling and she was only a dear friend to him. There are different films and documentaries about Esenin. - N.Trofimov

I think that the poster above was probably referring to the 2005 teleserial, there is a link to it from the Russian wikipage for Esenin.

Most Russian Poet Award[edit]

Where did Yesenin meet Duncan?[edit]

In the article is written: In the fall of 1921, while visiting the studio of painter Alexei Yakovlev, he met the Paris-based American dancer Isadora Duncan. I'm reading a book of Carola Stern Isadora Duncan und Siergiej Jessenin, Der Dichter und die Tänzerin where it's said that the painter's name was Georgy Yakulow. Radunitsa[edit]

In 1915, Yesenin published his first book of poems, Radunitsa (Russian: Радуница), soon followed by Ritual for the Dead (1916).

This was rated b-class, but I've re-rated it start-class. It does not meet the b-class standards as per Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment#grades guidelines. The article is not suitably referenced. The article does not reasonably cover the topic. The article is not "substantial", considering the importance of Yesenin and the number of sources available on him, or referenced, which would be required even for c-class. bad English[edit]
