Unfortunately we do need this disambig. If we check [1] we see that the name of the prominent human rights activist is spelled Sergei and Sergey almost randomly. Also per WP:RUS the correct wiki transliteration of the Russian name is Sergey Kovalev and if it is different from the name of the article we should have a redirect or disambiguation.
